Is BOTOX® right for you?
BOTOX® injections are best if you have wrinkles, fine lines and deepening creases on your face. These are common effects of aging, and in some cases, signs of skin damage. BOTOX® is an affordable solution to lines and wrinkles on certain parts of the face. Typical areas treated with BOTOX® include the forehead, the frown lines between the eyebrows, and the crow’s feet. What is Dysport®?
Dysport is botulinum toxin A, just like BOTOX®. The difference is that Dysport® is made by Medicis and BOTOX® is made by Allergan. Both are equally effective.
What happens during a BOTOX® session?
BOTOX® is a sterile, purified protein produced from a specific bacterium. BOTOX® is injected in minute amounts into your facial muscles. It then binds to the nerve endings. When injected into muscle, it weakens or paralyzes the muscle around the area injected for a period of several months, resulting in reduction in lines normally caused by the muscles contracting under the skin.
What can you expect post-procedure?
The recovery period following BOTOX® injections is very short. This cosmetic procedure typically takes a few minutes to perform, and you can typically return immediately to home or work. Minor irritation, redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection sites are the most common side effects. Side effects from BOTOX® usually subside within a few hours.
What results should you anticipate?
Botox may take several days to take effect, and the results typically last about 3 months. BOTOX® can achieve reduction in the vertical lines between the eyebrows, the horizontal lines across the forehead, and the fine lines in the crow’s feet region. The results are subtle, but real. BOTOX® works synergistically with our high grade skin care products to significantly reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
